Kentucky’s leading scorer, PJ Washington, said he’s unsure if he’ll be able to play in Friday’s NCAA Midwest Regional semifinal game against Houston Cougars.
Washington sprained his left foot in an SEC semifinal loss against Tennessee on March 16.
The Wildcats defeated Abilene Christian and Wofford in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Washington had a hard cast put on but had it removed Tuesday, he told reporters at the team’s media session.
Washington said he’ll test his foot for the first time on the court during Thursday’s practice.
“We don’t know,” Kentucky coach John Calipari said when asked if Washington would play Friday, “We just don’t know yet.”
The sophomore is averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 rebounds for Kentucky.
